Application Process

The UWC application process consists of four rounds.

First round: online application

For the first round, the candidates fill out the online application and submit it before the announced deadline.

In this application, you will need to provide basic information about yourself, attach an official grade transcript for the previous year as well as for the ongoing terms of the current academic year, tell about your academic and extracurricular activities, answer short questions, and write two essays.

Additionally, you will need to ask your parents to sign an agreement form which will prove that they support you in your UWC application.

Attention! You can answer the questions in the language that you prefer (except where the question states which language to answer in).

Second round: interview

The second round is carried out online through a video conferencing platform.

During this round, the applicants go through a personal interview with a selection committee that consists of UWC alumni and invited experts.

In this round, we evaluate the personal qualities of the applicants, their intellectual abilities, the capacity to succeed in the intense academic setting of UWC, their dedication to UWC values, and their readiness for living alone on campus.

Third round: group activities

The third round is carried out online via a video conferencing platform and consists of group activities. During this round, the candidates will be able to demonstrate their leadership and teamwork skills. This is an opportunity to show yourself as a socially competent person who can successfully interact with others. The National Committee is looking for applicants who know how to respect different perspectives and ideas and can effectively overcome personal differences.

Fourth round: final interview

The fourth round is carried out online via a video conferencing platform.

During this stage, the applicants go through a personal interview with a selection committee that consists of UWC alumni and invited experts.

The finalists are invited to this round, and the best of them will receive an offer and scholarships to UWC colleges. The rest of the finalists will go through the clearing process and will be eligible for potential additional spots and scholarships.

Before the day of the fourth round, the candidates will fill out the form for a financial assessment of their families, fill out their medical history, and provide the ranked list of their college preferences.

The change of the nomination destination is not available.

The Belarusian National Committee recommends the selected applicants to the administration of UWC colleges, based on the results of the application. Usually, the colleges accept the nominations of the recommended candidates, but their right to make a final decision regarding each candidate remains.

Clearing Process

The finalists who did not receive a spot at one of the UWC colleges or rejected their nomination will go on the waiting list. During May and June of 2025, these finalists will be offered vacant spots at all UWC colleges.

ATTENTION

A candidate applies to UWC in general and not to a specific college. If you want to study at a specific UWC college, you should send your application through the Global Selection Programme and be ready to pay the whole attendance cost.

You can apply to only one National Committee (including the Global Selection Programme). However, you can reapply the year after if not selected, as long as you remain eligible.

The applications of the candidates with disabilities will be reviewed on equal grounds.

All the personal details of the candidates received by the National Committee are not transmitted to a third party and are saved according to the UWC Belarus Data Protection Policy.
