Працягваем знаеміць вас з жыццем выпускнікоў пасля UWC
"Hi, I'm Yana and I spent two unforgettable years at UWC Dilijan, Armenia.
Life after UWC does exist! :) It is wonderful to see how UWC education has shaped me as a person and as a student. Currently, I am a second-year student at Whitman College in Walla Walla (I know that's funny), Washington State, USA. This is something that wouldn't have happened without my UWC experience. Whitman is a small, private Liberal Arts institution in the Pacific Northwest area of the United States. For my first two years here, I am actually required to explore different academic areas - like in IB, in fact - and for the two other years, I focus on a certain major. Thanks to IB, after graduating from UWCD I had a clear picture of what academic areas I enjoy and am good at. For me, it is music and languages! So, I decided to go for it at Whitman. I am planning to major in Music (which combines music history, theory, aural skills, piano performance, and many other fantastic things) and French. A great thing about Whitman is that it is quite small, and you can have a personal relationship with every professor if you invest in it. You get a lot of support and encouragement from them. Also, Whitman offers a lot of studies abroad opportunities, so if you want to learn a new language (like French for me), you can apply for an off-campus study program where you can fully immerse yourself into the language of your interest. Apart from academics, there is a lot of life going on! I enjoy making meaningful connections with people and exploring Walla Walla as well as the surrounding area!
I wish everyone would experience UWC. Not only it opens the whole world for you, but also changes you in ways you would never imagine!
UWC Dilijan gave me a family all over the world and the second home in Armenia. Also, it taught me to balance social (UWC) and academic (IB) life, which is a very useful skill, especially at college or university! :)
If I could give one advice to the future UWC students, it would be this: be authentic. It is easy to get caught up in trying to fulfill someone else's expectations or trying to be someone else. However, this way the world will never get to see your beauty and your potential! Be confident, open to change, and kind to yourself. I wish you all the best of luck!"
